77 with a 4th gen interior?
77 with an LS1 and 4th gen interior.
What are your thoughts about it? I kinda think it's cool but at the same time it's like I don't like it because it's not true to the style of the time.
I know a lot of people are swapping out engines for the newer model LS series which is something I want to do too at a later date.

Well I was looking at it and I noticed that the dash went all the way to the front of the windshield. I emailed him and he said that it went in without a problem. I find it highly unlikely that he did it without any type of fabrication since I know on my car that the dash has two parts with the vinyl dash part clipping to the metal. Does the metal forward dash come out easily and would it match up that seamlessly? I find that highly unlikely but I haven't ever gone that far forward on working with the dash area.
I think it's kinda neat in it's own way. But to me the nice thing about an old car, is the old school look of everything including the interior.
Replacement seats are OK. But nothing beats looking at an old style dash and cluster. New is a dime-a-dozen look.
Don't ya just hate it when people can't leave their car "normal" looking??

zoom in on the windshield line, the dash joins the cowl just inside the bottom edge of the windshield with lots of spot welds. I'm guessing some cutting and welding in your future for the dash work. Seats are easy, instrument cluster is only easy if you use 4th gen powertrain and computer to keep the guages, door panels could be tough, unsure of dimensions. I agree the old school dash is cool, i would do front seats at the most

Most of the dash and instrumentation in mine wasn't in the best of shape. Functional but not great so I updated mine to newer gauages and had to replace the vinyl dash due to the huge crack in the center of the original. Luckily I found one for 80 bucks with shipping on ebay from someone parting out their 76 (or 77, I can't remember).
here is a link to a currant ebay auction and its a 2nd generation, with i dont know what generation interior and dash,it has a airbag.

I am sure that when you get into the car the fit and finish wont be that great. I like the original interior. Dont see any value in putting that dash in. I could see putting the newer bucket seats buts thats all.
