79 doors help

Very good tip Damon. Marking around the hinges on the body and door side will make reassembly much easier! Also get a floor jack and make a jig to hold it like I described earlier. A helper is a must too!
And remove only one hinge at a time to repair! Don't go nuts and pull them all off at once. That will help even more. I've actually done them by myself with the jack by doing just single hinge at a time.

I've used a drill bit, but a self tapping screw would work the same. Some times self tappers get funky when going through two peices of metal though. The outer piece is drilled and threaded before the inner piece. The then screw is tight in the outer one before the hole is drilled in the inner one. Tough to explain, but I would predrill with a self tapper.

I never wanted to do the self tapper, as the hinge is too thick and they can snap in thick material. Also might want to adjust the hinge one day and then I'd have to take it out anyway.
