Question 77 heater question

Hey guys my 77 is a factory non AC car, and I am installing the heater. I have found pretty much everything, but my question is, should there be a heater control valve for water flow,or just the cool/hot air door in the heater box.

Just the box. I think what your talking about didn't happen until the third gens hit.

Thx Nomad, I see them on the AC cars. This thing was an empty shell when I started. Think I will install an aftermarket electric by pass to keep some of the heat out of the car on those hot 90 plus days

I just tossed the whole thing. No heater core at all.

If you're installing a shutoff, just put a manual one in and turn it off once summer hits. That's what I use on my gasser. Got a nice one at the hardware store for $5 and put hose barbs on each end.
The red handle in front of the head is my shutoff.
