I called them today and the place the camaro is at isn't the people who are selling. Someone in my town is and they just store it there. I looked inside a couple days ago and it's an automatic. Well was, but if I dont want that, do I just put in a manual tranny in there or do I need to change out the console?

The conversion is not that simple, You need the petals the clutch linkage (you may have to put the motor to tap out a hole in the engine depending on the engine.) not to mention you will have to cut up the floor and weld in a new section.

I'll just keep it as an auto. That's good enough for me for a first car, well project car,

Hey guys, I got a question. I was doing some research on the vin of this car, and I thougth it was a sport coupe, but now I think it's an LT. The engine code in the vin is H. That means it has or had, not sure, a 350ci V* which was the base on LT, according to http://www.nastyz28.com/camaro/camaro73.php. Am I right?

Edit:

I just did more research and I found out that if it is a type LT it would have an S in the VIN. But the vin I looked at doesn.t Was the 350 available with the base camaro?

I am by no means a 2nd gen expert but Base Camaro could have any available motor except the Z28 350. So it could have a straight 6 a 350 2 barrel or a 350 4 barrel. The only engine limit the LT had was you could not get a Type LT with a inline 6.

SO what you are saying is that the base could have any motor except what the z28 had? And then that means the 350 I was talking about is included as what the base could have. Okay, I understand now.

Update guys!

We are going to call the own tomorrow and ask him if he can hold on to the car for a while because we can't get the money till like a month from now. It should still be for sale since the for sale sign has worn out on the windshield, and it's been sitting there for a while now. We are selling some things to add some money to that. Just gotta wait and see.

Since you found it first, I'd go halfsies with you, but you're too far away.
What did you say the sellers phone number was again?
