Default 1972 Camaro Leaking w/ pictures.. HELP!!

Well, long story but my Camaro has been leaking into the trunk (through the rear windshield, under the molding) and into the passenger compartment (through the driver's window) when it rains, etc.

I took it to an amateur to get a new, cheap paint job but the problem was not fixed. I also tried to put "goop" on the rear window and that helped but did not solve it completely. I am looking for a solution I can do myself since I am a bit low on funds. If anyone has any suggestions I will gladly listen. Help before it gets worse.

Thank you all.

Since water is getting into the back seat area, I suspect you're also leaking at the top of the window. You'll need to pop the window moulding off to see what's going on under there. Rust around the window is common. The metal could be rusted through beyond or under the glass, or you could just have some rust crust forming between the glass and metal and breaking the seal. You could clean up what you can get to and silicone it shut as a quick fix until you are able to do it the right way, remove glass and repair.

Most really good auto parts store will have a clear "weather stripping" agent that you can apply also. I think a tube runs anywhere from 5 - 10 bucks. There's a bunch of different kits that you can get to do the job. Some of them come with window remover setups that allow you to take out the glass. Then you just go in and clean it out, reapply the sealant and drop the window back in or get a new.

Hey, thank you both Kyphur and Camaro69. I bought some caulking stuff and I'll get to work on it. I've been so busy I've had to put it off. I'll post up pics of the finished product.
