Default 1972 camaro how much is it worth?

I came across this beautiful camaro and was wondering if the owner is asking too much. it has a rebuilt 350 30 over with less than 10K miles on it. havent seen it yet but it looks clean what do you guys think?

can't buy much for $10k these days in the way of early 2nd gens. I would disagree with his "no issues" statement, as a little rust in the floor is an issue. He's also got some "issue" with the hood. It's obviously sitting very high on the driver's side.
Not saying it's not worth the $10k, but it sure needs a closer look to determine if there's more hidden rust, and any other issues.

Agree with BB427,'70-'73 cars are getting hard to find at a reasonable price these days now that all the 1st gen cars are gold plated.
The hood is probably just a worn hinge but it could be a sign of it being a wreck repair so if you get serious you might want to have a pro look at the frame for signs of damage.

well i have a 78 which is a 2nd gen but a little different, my floors and truck pan are pretty solid but usually that is a big problem, my car has alot of rust issues behind the wheel wells and on the quaters. that 72 is in better condition than mine but still, check the window trims for rust, i just found a small patch on mine that i will have to grind out, but basically that is all, my 350 needs new gaskets and what not but still runs strong, tranny is original and has no problems at all, i think its a great purchase choice for a daily driver as far as classic cars go, bring someone who is very mechanically inclined when you check it in person, you can probably talk him down a bit if you find any decent amount of rust.

I agree......look for more rust issues and then take it for a ride. look out for some odd noises. If the interior looks slapped together and it doesn't drive straight that is also an issue. If you indeed find something more then negotiate after everything is checked. Remember, there is a reason why he is selling it or he is just showing it off. There are better looking ones on eBay for less...they may be a later years like 77-to 81 but they look in better condition. This guy obviously doesn't care how things come out. You can see overspray in the engine bay. He actually painted the air cleaner with the filter on......That can be an indication on how other things may be done on the car. He might of seen a car similar to his go for big bucks and thinks he can get the same or close. I wouldn't start talking about a price before you look really good at it on a bright day.

If it doesn't feel right for 10 G's offer $2500 lower and see if he is willing to negotiate. Let him know that you pointed these things and someone else may point out even more stuff. If he refuses to lower is asking price I would move on. I think $8500 is not low balling for this car.

Good luck

Things to look for:
Look for bubbles in the paint job, as that's a sign of rust below. You'll usually see it around the wheelwells and lower body panels.
Look underneath at the floorboards, and take a pocket knife with you. When you look under the car, just poke around a bit with the point to see if it easily pokes through anywhere.
Look at the rubber bushings in the upper control arms to see if the rubber is cracking; a sure sign the bushings are very old and need replacement. Same for the rear spring bushings.
Look inside the trunk for rust, or fresh paint. If it's fresh look closer to be sure it hasn't been patched in with bondo.
Feel the floors! Wet carpet is a sign of leakage, and rust for sure!
Of course drive it, and see how it drives. Listen for weird sounds, rattles, engine noises, etc.
