Default 1970 grounding issue

I picked up a ‘70 that looks like it was the subject of an amateur restoration back in the 90’s. When they wired it, they ran the ground cable from the battery to the alternator bracket. I’m sure this is incorrect, right?? Can any one give a good discription or there it’s supposed to go or even a picture? Thanks!

I think that is actually correct, if you google 1970 LT1 engine nearly all the pics show the bat neg cable on the alternator bracket, same with big blocks.

As Y2K shows, correct contact point for ground cable.
You might get a longer cable and attach to block to the empty boss just above oil pan on front of block.
Do not use the existing bolt above it as this hole goes directly to fuel pump rod and can leak oil.
Wire brush and coat with antiseize preventing corrosion.
