Default 10inch wide rear wheels quick question help!

Hi,

I have a 77 Camaro and i currently have 15x8 wheels on the rear with Cooper Cobra GT tyres. I have just changed my rear springs so have a good 2inch gap between the top of the tyre and the wheel arch. Is this gap enough to install 15x10 on the rear, as they will be inline with the wheel arch. I know that generally there will be ok, but just worried about going over speed bumps or pot holes in the road, would they come in contact with the arch, or is the 2inch gap good enough?

Thanks from Luke

None of us can answer that with any kind of certainty, without knowing how much travel your springs have. I have stiff rear springs, with about 3/4" vertical clearance between the tire and fender lip. The car barely deflects when I bounce on the back, and the rear tire might kiss the quarter panel lightly if I hit a real hard bump. Best thing to do is for you to have a heavy person get in the trunk and bounce up and down while you monitor how much movement you get. 2" is a bunch of clearance.

10 with 5.50" of Backspace should fit fine. I have an 11" wheel.
