Z28 badging

I just got my '68 camaro back from being sandblasted, and I notice the holes in the front fender for Z28 badging. My question is, did all front fenders leave the factory with these holes?, or is it a "real" Z28?

I think most if not all had a badge there,some just engine size like 327 or RS and SS badges.
Maybe not the straight six plain janes.
