Very hot engine compartment
HI guys
Need some suggestions on hot to get the hot engine air under my hood out !!!
I have a big block 454, ceramic coated headers, 18 inch electric fan, becool over size radiator. Car runs hot when in stop and go traffic or just slowly cruising in town down here in central florida when the temps are in the 90s.
have a stock 1968 hood with the chrome plated squares in the center.

first of all I would say get rid of the electric fan! replace with a mechanical and shroud. I added upper and lower filler panels to force the air through the radiator. Saturday I sat in traffic at numerous stop lights (caught all 8 red) in 85-90* and the engine stayed at 170*
back in the day I adjusted the back of the hood up about 1/2". that did not affect the closing and no one would see it while driving. it let the hot air escape
