Default Engine Block Question

I have recently purchased a 1 owner 67 Camaro RS with 59,000 miles, barn find with all documentation related to car from protect o plate to state inspections, My question is the code on engine block is KL,{V0120KL}the block and protect o plate both have the "V" for Flint Engine Plant, the protect o plate and all info says it should be an ME, the KL code is from a 1967 passenger car, since the last 6 digits of my VIN are 220255 {being towards end of run} is it possible that they used a passenger car standard engine? Because it has the 2 barrel carb I wouldn't think that someone would go through the trouble of swapping the blocks and put the 2 barrel setup back on it. Also on the pad the code is on is a + cross with the number 4 on other end from the V0120KL. Thanks for any input, it is greatly appreciated.

ME is a 327 engine with a powerglide for a 67 Camaro.
KL is a 327 engine with a 3 speed auto for a 67 full size Chevy.
The KL engine was never offered in the Camaro.
