Default dakota digital gauges

I'm in the process of installing new gauges from Dakota. Per Dakota, engine temp sensor sold with kit must be used for gauge to work properly. Problem..... It's a 350 with OEM temp sensor on drivers head. I'm running 1 3/4 long tubes. Instructions states screw in adapter followed by sensor. Only issue is it won't fit due to headers. I'm running and Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, where can I move the engine temp sensor?

Hard to suggest without some photo but I would guess that one solution would be to get an adapter fitting to 45 out away from the header in place of the dakota one?
