What kind of carrier is this?
Had to replace an axle on the 67 Camaro with a 10 bolt 8.5 Posi traction. Rear gear is a 4.10, but didn't really recognize the carrier. Has been awhile since have been into one, but that funny looking spacer between the side gears does not look familiar and not finding any pictures of it on the internet. Looks like would be a chore to remove it also . See picture attached

Carrier is not OE design for '67 as one, instead of spring shown, there should be two plates and four coil springs in pressing clutches together.
Also, plates under arrow would not be shown and diameter would 8.2 inches.
after cover is back on, use GM LS additive and do figure eight's

I think the rear end is actually from a 1971 or later Nova. Why it was changed don't know, but as a SS/RS thought it should have had a 12 bolt and the single traction rod. Floor reinforcement and mounting studs are there, but bracket is not on rear end housing. Ring gear is 3988515 - 4.10 dated 86. and is an 8.5 rear end. Has mono leaf springs with traction bars welded to the spring plates and bolted to the spring on forward end. The plan is 2 inch lowering multi leaf springs, with 2 traction rods attached to the floor instead of the one. The carrier just looked odd to me and wondering if a Yukon or some other oddball.
