TH350 adjustment
I am about to change the oil in the TH350 gearbox as I have no idea when it was changed. Oil seems to be nice and recent but I prefer to open it and put new oil in.
I will check the filter while it'll be open.
This car has no kick down. When you press the pedal to the floor there is no down gear change. Is it supposed to have a kickdown or is it optionnal?
How can I tell? I don't know what to check.
Also while it will be open is there any adjustment to the band to make or check? What is the procedure there?

Yes, kickdown linkage at carb is standard equipment. There should be a cable hooking to a ball stud on carb linkage below pedal linkage.
This same cable will have its own bracket on intake manifold for adjustment and holding cable.
Inside trans pan, cable will hook to a lever, spring loaded lever.
If no cable at trans case, next to fill tube, there will be a heck of an oil leak.

On the th350 it controls the throttle valve that raises line pressure when the throttle is depressed all the way. If you have a 700r4 & don't hook up the cable, it will mess up the trans, as on that unit it controls shift points too.
