Default gear swapping help

Hello. I have a t10 4 speed thaat needs to be rebuilt. I want a 5 speed but I simply can't afford that right now. I reaally want that overdrive gear though. I was wondering if it was possible to swap 4th gear to an overdriven gear somewhere around .8 or .7 instead of 1:1? Has aanyone ever heard about or done this? And if so is it expensive?

Does this just sound completely rediculous?

No can do without a complete redesign. Keep in mind that 4th is direct drive, where the input shaft is locked to the output shaft. To change 4th to overdrive will require additional gears inside the case. What you could do, is add an overdrive unit outside of the case such as the ones sold by Gear Vendors.

Thanks. I didn't know that. The gear vendors overdrive would be sweet, but it cost just about as much as a full tko500 kit :/ if I still decided to have the gear swapped, how much woul you guess it would cost? I've got about $1000 to work with.
