Question Swapping out 2.8L for 305 TBI

I'm swapping out the stock 2.8L MPFI V6 for a 305 V8 TBI motor that I pulled out of a 1989 Chevrolet Van 2500.
I'm trying to use the V6 wiring harness for this transfer. All of the wires are exact hookups except for the injectors. I was thinking that I could cut the main injector wires and just splicing them with the TBI injector wires. They each have four wires.
Anyone have any ideas?

never cut and splice injector wiring. the connectors will create a small amount of resistance and could cause issues. if you really wanted to do it, solder them. the v6 wiring might work, but make sure you swap the ecm from the van as well, or else the car wont run

Hey man, these guys are way more of a mechanic than I will ever be but I can say this...going from a V6 to a V8 is going to cause you a nightmare...wiring harnesses, computer mods, etc......and WHY a 305? Its only marginally stronger than a V6. Either stick with the stock V6 or rip it all out, start from the ground up and put a plain 350 in it....all you need is power to the HEI coil...........

I few things
First off I do not see how you injectors are going to work since the pair of injectors on the TBI feeds the whole motor and each of the leads off the V6 was designed to feed only one cylinder. So each of the V6 connectors fires once every 4 strokes while the V8 needs twice every stroke. Also you ignition will be a problem. If you use the system from the V6 how will it fire a V8? Last you will need to look into you fuel system. I think the TBI wants 12 PSI and the V6 is going to give it more like 40psi.

Your best bet is to find the complete EFI system off the same year. How much could it cost? I see TPI system for $200. Guys are dumping TBI system all the time for Carbs.

hey, good call gorn. i misread that and though the v6 was tbi. yea, the entire harness and computer will need to be replaced. unless you really want the sound of a v8, i dont think its worth it

thanks everybody for the help.
1)im going with a 305 cause it was givin to me for free and i wanted the V8 sound.
2)i really wanted to find a TPI system, but right now i cant find one.
3)I had already changed the computer over...and changed it to be carbed.

This is mostly a project cause i bought the car for $400 and just wanna have fun. You all are prolly way more mechanically inclined than i am, so i appreciate everyones input.
