Default steering box located behind subframe

I have a 67 Camaro with manual steering. I was thinking of converting to power, however I've noticed that my gear box isbehind the subframe(firewall side). All others I see are in front.I was wondering if this will cause any problems in the conversion.

first gens are on one side of the steering linkages (rear)and second gens are on the other (front). you can actually use a second gen box (they have better ratios) and all you have to do is reverse the pitman arm

yup, you will enjoy it. there is NO reason these days to go without power steering except if you're going with a full-on racer
