Default Pitman Arm

Switching car from manual to power steering. Manual has short pitman arm. Power pitman arm maybe 1/2” longer. Is this going to cause any issues? Lots conflicting info out there from switching idler arm to 67 arm which is longer to match pitman. Or switching to short pitman for Nova, Ventura etc that matchs current idler arm. Kinda confusing because also to run longer pitman only and should be fine. HELP!!!

The arms, Pitman and idler , should be of the same length to keep 'Ackerman steering' correct.
Otherwiae, the lightly loaded tire will scuff/slide in a turn.
the center link should be parallel to the crossmember when wheels pointed straight ahead.

Awsome thats what I figured was right but have got info overload on to many options. Guy at Chevy Camaro store said he’d never heard such stuff and said just throw pitman on. Back in the day when I was an auto mechanic alignments were part of my duty. I could see in my mind right way, just needed a little confirmation.
