The bracket looks pretty good. You might want to look at welding triangle gussets on both sides though. At the very least, the compressor is likely to tweak left and right.
But, you don't want it to fatigue the weld and make it fail.

It has a 3rd bolt to the heads off the back side so that shouldn't be much of an issue. To get the compressor to line up properly, a little tweak in when the belt is tight will probably be a good thing.

So onto the AC hoses. Today the squid drilled 3 more holes into the firewall. Of course he practiced on something old to make sure to get the right sized hole.

He then drilled the holes from inside the car cause the drill wouldn't fit in the engine bay.

Inserted the rubber grommets and hoses.

looks good. did you seal up the bare spots under the grommets were the drill exposed steel? fingernail polish would work.

Umm sortof. I put it around the one that was open and smeared it in behind the other 2 grommets. But thanks for the tip.

Now we got the condenser and dryer mounted. Also figuring out all the layout for the hoses cause the Squid's brother is coming by tomorrow with a crimping tool to attach all the hoses permanently.
