T-56 6 speed manual
12 bolt rear with eaton posi
detroit speed quadra link rear suspension upgrade from leaf
detroit speed hydroformed complete subframe kit for LS motors
4 wheel disc

Congratulations man and the best of luck to you on your project. I hauled mine on a trailer just like you did, except mine did not start, and the brakes were frozen after about 8 years of sitting. I had to pull, drag, push and winch her onto the flat bed, not a pretty sight I tell you (lol)
Well you got the basics for a good start, you have a dream and you have your dream car foundation and you found the right place for information and help. Take your time, look at it for a while, make some basic decisions and then... hands on!
Enjoy the ride

Hello Orocker,
Awesome job! just sat on my butt and read your whole post. Had a couple questions during the read and can't remember them all right now. So I might have to pic your brain down the road here. You mentioned Rick's and I think NPD? for best price on parts. Who is NPD I think that's what you wrote going from memory. Why did you go soda blast instead of any other option? I assume recommendation from your body man...He seems like he really knew his stuff. You striped your whole front end down, why not have that powder coated before putting back together? What paint did you use on all the parts you painted Por15? and if so did you coat over the por I heard its not UV protected. Starting a resto-project on a 69 z28. Found her sitting in a garage after 32 years. Po really let her just sit their and rot. Everything is there except radiator, he can't remember what happen to it? Thanks for you detail posts I think it will be a lot of help and insperation. Sorry for long post but actually I held it short!
ok found NPD...

Thanks...its been a fun journey. Yes NPD. My body guy liked them because the quality was consistent and prices over all were better than the others on most everything. I did find a few things cheaper at Rick's 1st gen. You can find them both online with online catalogs. Soda or media blasting is a good way to blast a car. It will dissolve and wash away and Ive been told that with sand blasting, you can never get all the sand out of all the nooks and crannies. Yes he was an old school bodyman and used old school techniques. Too bad his health got the better of him and he went out of business....I have a bone to pick with him about my paint job. I am not happy with it at all. But I have to live with it for the 1st year or so and then I am going to have it redone when I get the money. I need to get the car rolling down the road and get the bugs out and then worry about the paint. The front end parts were powder coated seperately and then assembled. Thats when it all got painted. Yes we used the POR paint on all the subframe parts and no we did not paint over it. Goodluck with your project and be sure and start a project thread and post lots of pics. I love watching it all come together.
So we got us some wire loom and last night we wired up a side marker. This kit is turning out to be very easy to use and the diagrams and instructions are great.

the process goes something like this....wire goes in the loom, then wrap loom with tape, feed thru the fender and pull out wires as needed...

Now I gotta find where I put my turn signals and fog lights. So this weekend we are gonna tear a shed apart and dig thru a bunch of parts.

Well.....I have decided to let go and let my husband go to work on the camaro. Ive done a large portion of what's been done so far and I just dont have much time anymore to work on it. And if I ever want to actually drive it before I get too old to enjoy it....then I need to let him do alot of the work thats left.....lol
In the last few days alot has gotten done. I got my drive shaft all scrubbed, primered, and painted black. Now we can take it to get shortened.

The squid went and bought me my new battery cables and installed them

He also went and bought all the speaker wire and got the rest of the side interior wiring done. We wont be putting a stereo in till later but the speaker wire will be there for when we do.

After doing a bunch of research we decided on RattleTrap from FatMat for the sound deadiner. I got a great deal from a dealer on ebay. 160$ for 100sq ft. The squid put it on the floor, roof, and trunk.

And lastly....tonight he attached my tail lights.
