1968 Camaro Header Equal Height At The Collector
Should the headers, at the collector, be equal distance from the bottom of the car or does maybe the passenger side seem higher up and closer to the bottom of the car? Does it matter which header manufacturer it is? These are Hooker long tube. Engine is just a 350 cu.in. Thanks for any feedback.
Yes, ensure same tire pressure and size, engine square in frame, no rotten body bushings.
Explaining my comment 'were the same.' means the three sets of collectors were different heights as well.
Maybe an inch difference max.

Ahh, the great Hooker Equalizer experiment! I've had at least two sets of Hookers that didn't line up underneath - one set on a Vega and another on a 2nd gen Camaro. Both were evened up by using either a 2x4 or a 1x4 and a jack. I placed the wood between the header tubes and the body, and jacked up the collector until they were close. I couldn't have easily bent the other collector down, as ground clearance was an issue, especially with the Vega. It worked out great, though, and I was left with an equal exhaust system...that no one ever saw...
