69 Ignition Key

Does anyone sell a new ignition with a key that is made to match the original key code? In other words, I provide the code on the old ignition and they set the new ignition to match. Saves me from also changing the door locks.

Have you tried your local Chevy dealer? If no luck there check with a locksmith shop.

Not so sure what you want is available, I haven't seen it. What you can do is re-key the new cylinder to your old key. Take apart both cylinders, and replace the new brass slugs with the old ones. Or, you can insert the old key into the new cylinder, and file down the protruding slugs so they are flush with the cylinder like they were with the new key that it came with. If you're not comfortable tackling this, a locksmith can.
