Default Will 8" Corvette Rallys fit on a '68 Convertible?

Hi - I am a newbie.

I am getting ready to do a total restore on a '68 RS convertible I just bought. The first thing I did was buy a set of 8" Rally wheels, but a couple of people have told me the 8" won't fit on the front. Can you guys verify that?

Crap! I've taken an ad out to sell these and replace with 15x7's. I've heard from about four sources they will rub on the front. Now I'm confused.

I have 17X8s on front, I have got disc brakes on front but I am not sure that matters.

depends on the backspacing, i've got 7" on front 8" would have to be perfectly spaced (around 4.5)and may still rub swaybar / sub frame. for me, period camaro center caps over corvette. good luck.

Mine were not aftermarket wheels, they were real Vette wheels 15 x 8 with factory offset. 225-60-15 front tires, 275-60-15 rear. No rubs. Boy, that brings back some memories.....
