Whats this worth? 69 Camaro 12 bolt
Hey Guys got a question. i am possibly thinking of swapping out my rear axle from my 69 Camaro. it is a Factory original 69 Camaro 12 bolt that came in the car from day one. i got the car from 2nd owner who had it completely rebuilt with new gears and posi unit..(not sure on what Posi Unit tho) anyway has new Richmond gears 3.73 new posi and i am pretty sure upgraded axle shafts. i have since added a Wilwood rear disc brake kit too it.. i will be putting the SpeedTech Rear Torque arm suspension in soon and i would have to butcher the axle up to use with the new suspension so been thinking of buying a axle set up with the right gears im going with with the axle brackets already welded on and narrowed to the width i need from SpeedTech.. so my question is whats my old rear axle complete with wilwood disc kit worth .. it's all fresh rebuilt maybe 3,000-4000 miles ago. im looking at 3199.00-3700.00 for a new one.. Thanks ahead of time.. Bill

When ever you sell used performance parts it will be tuff to get a 50% return on investment. Most guys would rather spend 4K and get a warranty then spend 2K and have the risk that someone did not put something together right. I have seen many times "fresh" rear ends that did not make it 10,000 miles.
You definitely want sell it before you pull it. I would never buy a rear that I did not hear on the highway unless it came with a warranty.

well i ended up selling it in the car. last night. now just need to pull it out when the rain stops.. settled at 1900 with the disc brake kit.. and the rear end was fresh before i got the car.. it had about 3000 miles on it before i got it and i put another 4000 or more on it and i beat on it so it was definitely a good rebuild when it was done.. and it was a New everything rebuild not just a freshen up
.. thanks for the replies even tho no one really gave me an idea if i was asking too much or not enough..

yeah i was just waking up and forgot he mentioned around 1500-2000.. i was trying to find out if that's what it would be worth for basically a new rear end . this had everything inside it replaced with brand new posi , gears and all bearings and also had a new wilwood brake kit .. thats why i was questioning 1500-2000.. anyway i listed it for 2200 had 3 calls immediately 1 guy came out checked it out ran the numbers and offered me 1700 i said 1900 he said sold .. i picked this nice Fab9 with Strange 35 spline center section with posi and strange axles for same exact price i sold my axle for.. also came with the Chris alston sway bar and coil overs out of a 67 Chevelle.. now i have a set of Coil overs for a 67 Chevelle i got to sell lol.. thanks again guys..
