69 camaro... Race car ,whats it worth
Guys ,
I have a chance to pick up a 69 Camaro it has a I think a 357 motor ,dart heads , RED carb,Stahl full length ceramic Headers , Auto( not sure of the shifter set up) ,12 bolt rear . Its is running about !0.80 +/- presently . motor has about 10 runs on it brand new slicks and front tires.the car is all there, sort of unmolested, not butchered up . It would not be tough to get it back on the street if I wanted to .There is a vinyl top that has some rust blisters and build up under it .The under body and frame are clean painted black ,the rust there is next to nothing. The body itself is straight with a few dings solid It does have a roll bar in it and only 1 race bucket , It is all set up for the track and ready to go .It also comes with a 1999 24ft enclosed trailer with tool boxes , work benches, generator, the trailer in and out looks perfect , everything is in real nice shape .. what do you guys think would be a good price for it all would be . I know my description is a bit vague on the car and motor but you can get the general drift if it all. let me know what you guys think
Thanks Chris

Wow, I really don't know, but the trailer alone is pretty good.
The value of pure drag cars is hard to pin down. It depends more on their proven record at the track than what they have in them. Not sure I can help you, but what has it run?

Lee,
It has runs plus or minus 10.80 in the quater mile at a track here in NJ where it is always raced. I think the owner is looking for about 15-16K for it all . Its a shame to have such a nice classic as this as only a track car seeing that I dont believe it would take much to get it back on the street. I was thinking it may be worth about 18-20K but I am now second thinking this as the 15-16 maybe were it is at for it .What do you think.

I agree. If I bought it I'd look at putting it back on the street. That would be feasible, too, particularly if all the original wiring is there, or if you have a long time.
Look at Year One catalogs, etc. - I think you can get just about everything for the interior, door panels, carepets, seats, etc. Or you can certainly find surplus cars.
The price you quote does not sound outstandingly good, or really unreasonable. And you could turn around and sell the trailer if you did not want it.
