Default whats is the largest wheel/tire combo for a stock 69 camaro

Im in the process of trying to figure out a good wheel tire combo for the rear of my 69. I opted not to mini tub it and leave it stock. I have lowered it 2 inched in the rear and currently have a stock set of 15X7 ralleys with 235/60/15. I would like to go with 17 or 18inch rims. Let me know what combos your running, any pics would be great too.

thanks

The tire on mine is a 275x60x15 which is a little over 28 inches tall and about 8 1/2 inches wide. Fills up the fenderwell quite well. IMO a Gen 1 Camaro has to sit pretty low for those 18 inch wheels to look right. Choose wisely 'cause you have alot of $ at risk.

16 x 8 with a 245/50/16 all around is a safe choice and still allows you to rotate your tires. anything wider in front you run the possibility of rubbing when you turn lock to lock. if you try a search, this was discussed in detail a while backon the forum in, I believe, the suspension section

Used that combo in a friends car and is perfect. No rubbing at all. I agree. That combo is trouublefree.
