Default What does "Turbo Jet" mean on gen1 Camaros?

Was wondering what the Turbo Jet means, if anything, on Gen1 Camaros? I noticed you can buy badges for BB Camaros with and without the turbo jet tag. Can't seem to find anything on google to explain it.

From what I under stand, it was a "marketing" thing.

6 cylinders were called "turbo-thrift".

The old 348/409 were called "turbo-thrust".

Small blocks were called "turbo-fire".

Big blocks were called "turbo-jet".

The big block fender emblems, with the V and crossed flags, include the "Turbo Jet", not aware of that style not having the wording. Perhaps the different ones you're seeing without are grille, hood or trunk emblems.

I wonder if he is referring to the decal on the air cleaner as the "badge"?

also do you guys know where to mount the header panel "Chevrolet" and "Camaro" badges on a 67? My car doesn't have the holes drilled for the badges and don't fancy drilling in the wrong spot. thanks

If it were my car, I wouldn't fancy drilling holes period. I'd prefer to remove the studs and attach with 3M molding tape.

You did see this footnote, didn't you:
Not An Original Camaro Emblem...But, Pretty Cool For A 427 Conversion!

For badge location, but this book: Camaro Parts | L1067 | 1967 Camaro Assembly Manual | Classic Industries
Great book to have laying around for any future questions.
