does a sound system mean bad gas mileage ?
alright so i was thinking and i wonder if this is possible, we all know that to run the sub the amp draws power, well on our cars, like almost (probably every) newer car the ignition is electronic, not ran by a distributor like the older engines, so if you're running your subs pretty loud its drawing power from the same circuit that provides spark to your spark plugs via our coil packs, well any mechanic knows that weak spark translates into insufficient fuel burn, which creates worse mpg. sooooo.... could your sytem be causing you worse gas mileage, through insufficient spark ? hmm[/align]

I don't believe it does. Usually if you are going to get a sound system that has the potential to domake anysignificant changes, you will also be smart enough to upgrade your battery, altenator, andto getlarger gauge wires from the altenator to battery, battery to the chasis, and engine ground to the chasis.

capacitors hurt a sound system, UNLESS your wire and alt can already handle amprage load, then it helps stop fluxuation of volts going into amp.
No. it can't hurt. the alternator feeds spark to the spark plugs before anything else, why the wire from alt to battery is a higher OHMs than wire from alt to distributers. if your alt fails, then yes, it would affect gas milage, cuz then plugs are run off battery.
