The 1% you didn't read must have included the part where Stovebolts said his alternator is also 1-wire capable, and he was taking that route. That's what all our previous wiring suggestions were based upon.

Hey, thanks Massey!

You know, I was looking at that connector too!

If you can draw me up a picture, I'll make the changes next weekend. Also, I like the idea of a junction box where the four wires are bolted together by the Horn relay.

Thanks for your input!

69, I certainly appreciate everybody's help! I have learned a lot for sure and only hope I can share some of the stuff I've learned over the years too! Like I said earlier, I'm somewhat color blind, so I've always shyed away from Electrical.

And to think, I was going to put a circuit breaker in where I should have had a fusible link

I'm running a single wire alt from Jeg's. I run a mini starter with a external ford starter solonoid. what wire will I need to run on the run side of the solonoid to turn on the fuse block? Is it the black one that turns red?

Good topic

OK here are the schematics. The first is what you have in the car, and the second is how to change the wiring to meet the requirements of the Internally regualted using the ignition switch and plug.

Any questions just ask.

Would it be asking too much for you to redraw those schematics?
The main lines are different from what's drawn. This factory wiring diagram will make it easier than describing:

We used a lot of different size loom with ours. Got it at Harbor Freight. Then wrapped it in tape. That way if we need to change anything we just cut the tape at the loom opening. Easier than unwrapping the wires.

No biggy... I didnt have Camaro Schematics to work with when I made those any way. I went off my memory from doing the conversion on 60's Chevy trucks and a couple of cars. I have even put the 7127 Alternators in Fords and Dodges. Anyway I was not able to get to my computer last night so I will have to fix the colors later today.
