Im looking to put a th700 in my 69 camaro. I'm running a relatively stock 350 and a 12 bolt rear with 3.73 gears. I have an overdrive out of a 84 chevy 1/2 ton 2wdor I can get a 1992 chevy 1/2 ton 2wd. Which trans is the best and or easiest to convert to? Any other suggestions? Thanks!!

 

92 was the last year they put the 700r4 in the trucks, then they switched to the 4l60e which is the electronic version of the 700r4.

Given the choice, I'd probably go with the newer transmission.

Also, you'll have to cut your driveshaft down to make it fit the new transmission.

 

Have to build or buy another crossmember too.

 

Great Idea! I just did a tremec 5 speed conversation running 3.73 and WHAT A DIFFERENCE !! 100mph at 3200 rpm and still have the punch of the line .
Ofcourse fame doesn't go without a price $$$ new trans/axles/driveshaft and what the hell made it a 383 stroker. If only the Miss's knew how much was spent
