v6 to v8 conversion

Default v6 to v8 conversion

i have 2001 with a 3.8 v6, 5 speed manual. what do i have to change if i want to drop a ls1 or lt1 with a 6 speed?

I don't think many of the parts are interchangeable you will need alot from the LS1 donor

You have a lot to do and a lot of money to spend. My baby went from an old 3.4 to an 97 LT1 engine and it was a true bit of work. Be ready to spend a bit of money cause its a good idea to change out your exhaust and such. As for switching to a six speed im not sure but im sure you have to cut some metal to fit in the T56.

its not worth it, it will be a lot cheaper to buy a camaro with a v8 already in it

Engine with harness, tranny, computer, maybe the radiator (maybe not)....

Costlier and more grunt workthan difficult. Tranny shifter will pop through the tunnel just fine. The car was made for either option from the factory.

Granted, getting a v8 car already done up is never a bad way to go.
