don't let people scare you. find you adecent mechanic and pay him to instruct you. i built my first engine when i was 15. payed a mechanic 50 dollars and a case of beer to sit in a lawn chair on his day off and instruct me. best money i ever spent. over a life time it has probably saved me a $100,000 or more. not to mention the satifaction and joy of doing it yourself. don't be scared of making mistakes. thats how we learn. as far as the 3.73 gears and a two speed ... in my opinion you would be better off with 4.10 and a 3 speed. just my opinion tho. save the 327 you can buy a 350 anywhere , where are you going to buy a pre 70,,,327
