Since it appearsno one wants to buy my car it should i have the engine rebuilt or buy a stock crate engine and have it installed? Which would be cheaper? Where can i find someone who sells LT1s.

Its a 1994 with 123,xxx miles, its my daily driver and i run premium in it, i keep it as good as i can but it was beaten badly before... and i was having problems with it until i spent 3,000 into repairs.. now it runs fine.. Could use some cleaning up inside and out... Im in Washington State, 20-30 mins away from Seattle. I would like $7,000 because of all ive put into it (over 8 grand, buying the car, repairing the car and general upkeep..)

Are you looking to build up from a long block or do you want a turn key engine?

 

If you know how its better to rebuild because then you can make sure of the quality. With create engines nine times out of ten they are remainwhich can be done right but some companys cut corners and use sub-standard parts.

WOW 3000!!!... i was lookin for something cheaper that i would work with over a short strech of time.. its not like my engine is dying to choke on me.. i was just looking to build something big before it does..

I have no clue what the different is between a longblock and turn key.. and i dont kno how to rebuild the engine myself.. i was going to have my mechanic help me work on it.. he lives like 30 mins away and has room and all the tools for it.

 

I hate to be a downer man, but there is no way your going ot get $7000 for a 94 LT1 with 120k on it. The car is just not worth that much no matter how much money you dumped in it. A true rebuild is going to cost you a few grand any way you look at it, trying to cheap out will just cause more troubles. I really doubt the car needs a rebuild anyways, it sounds more like you have a bunch of minor problems and rebuilding the engine is not going to solve that.

 

I think we all need to pitch in and justbuild Spartan a new car like on "Overhauled"- simplyso we can quit hearing about it.
