I just installed a 70’s Nova radiator on my 69. Question is, is the radiator cap suppose to be over the support or level with the support? You see how the cap is above the radiator. Is that ok?
As long as the hood closes, it doesn't matter. I wouldn't attach that radiator permanently in place on the core support until it's mounted on the car, your hood might be in the way by how it looks. My radiator cap is about even with the highest point (middle) of the support, but I don't have a hood on for clearance reference.
here is a picture of mine. it 1.75" above the support. if you are uncertain place some clay on the cap and close the hood all but latching and check the clay
I have a 69 Camaro with the original Harrison tanks and brackets. The filler neck is mounted at an angle on the beveled top corner of the radiator. The inboard edge of the cap sticks up 3/4" above the core support closest point. Using clay on the inboard edge of the cap, 1 1/8" clearance with the hood closed (factory hood).
