A Question for the experts
in 1968 was there approx 5 or so camaros made for GM big wigs that had a factory sunroof, power front and rear windows, SS package, and air. automatic on the column 350 with a hydroglide. i only ask because i met a guy today with one in his garage and he claims it to be 1 of 5 made.

i have seen a ton like i have described to without the sunroof. i guess my question is is this a real deal car with the sunroof or what do we have here? 1 of 5 produced and from what he is saying 1 of 1 left makes this car pretty damn rare. any info?
i am fairly sure that the sunroof was a dealer installed option or it could be aftermarket i guess. You could order all the other stuff just by checking it off of the options sheet at the dealer too. I highly doubt this car is as rare as 1 in 5. ive seen a few with sunroofs but they were all aftermarket.
Interesting...
I've never seen a Camaro with a sunroof. Nor read of any built as a factory part. I think it's something to look into though. Over the few years it always seems some odd option or limited part that went to the Camaro is discovered in the archives of GM.
It looks to be a clean install from the outside. How did the interior look? Was the dome light still there? Did the buttons and switches look like you'd see in a Camaro?

THIS IS DEFINATLY A FACTORY INSTALLED PART. THE INTERIOR IS PERFECT WITH THE SWITCH IN THE DASH FOR IT.IT IS DEFINATLY PART OF THE ACTUAL ROOF IT COULDNT GET MUCH CLEANER. I WILL KNOW FOR SURE WHAT THIS CAR IS IN A FEW WEEKS AS THE OWNER IS GOING TO TRY TO FIND THE BUILD SHEET HE DOES HAVE THE PROTECTO PLATE AND WINDOW STICKER HE SAYS BUT DOESNT SAY ANYTHING BOUT THE SUNROOF
I am wondering what, if any, is the RPO code for that. I wouldnt get excited untill I saw the build sheet or the protect-o-plate for it. I have done some reasearch here and can not find anything about a sun roof. Perhaps its a kit from a different car from the GM line that the factory installed for it, if so I would like to hear the history of the car, I bet its interesting.
