Question about Rims, Tires, Mini-tubs
I'm going to be searching for a '65-'69 Mustang or Camaro once I sell my Lightning. I'm not hung up on matching numbers at all, actually hoping to find something with a built or crate motor upgrade. But one aspect of the Camaros seems to be the rear tire tuck. Is it a matter of using the right offset wheels, tire sizes, or mini-tubbing the rear? I've seen several Camaros at shows and cruise nights that seem to have tire/rims that stick out too much, or others that are just jacked up to allow a big tire/wheel... and that can look weird too.
So what are the guidelines for tires and wheel sizes? When I get to that point, I'm thinking some kind of staggered setup, maybe 17" or 18" wheels? My goal would be to have a nice driver, not a drag racer. Been there done that before. More like a pedestrian Pro-touring rode.
