Default Power Steering Conversion

I would like to add power steering to my 1967 convertible. I see a number of different kits on the internet, but most all kits state "Upgrading to power steering requires modifications to steering columns and/or the steering system." Can anyone tell me what modifications are needed? Also, does anyone have any recomendations on a specific kit and/or anything to look out for. Thanks in advance for the help!

All the holes should already be on the frame for mounting the steeering gear box and so on.. Check the drivers side of the frame inside the wheel well and you should see 3 holes for bolting on the power gear box. On the pass side of the frame on the inside you should see 2 holes for attaching the idler arm. The pitman arm will connect right to the new power gear box and the center link right to that. Use a power steering pump with the reservior built onto it. then all you have to do is run the 2 lines from the gearbox to the pump. The power steering gearbox rag joint should connect right up. I have pics of mine (was converted too on my 68 convertible ss) if you need to see the setup. The gear box is about $185 to $225 (3 turn lock to lock) and the pump is aobut $75 and the pitman and idler is about another $125.

Take a look at my PhotoBucket account below:

I have a number of pictures of the subframe with all the suspension attached. The best pictures for your needs are in the second album.
