Hello again. Been lurking a lot. Asked about a coupe of possible purchases. Asking again. Someone is offering me this 67 for less than $4k. Lots of other parts and body panels are included, but no motor or trans. Huge project, I know. Not sure is worth it. Thoughts?
Are you planning on doing the work yourself cause I see 15k worth of metal work with another 5-8k in finish body work and paint. Getting a car set back right after removing that much metal will take a body jig and a lot of measuring. For us without body jigs we would never remove that much metal at one time without a ton of braces to make sure nothing moves. I personally would just never do it.
For me It would go, Leave rear quarters and replace the trunk floor, rear tail and the trunk lid and the doors. Once you are happy with everything fitting then move to the rear quarter, cut it off and replace it and get your fit back. Do one side at a time.
It just looks to me like a PRO who has all the right equipment cut out everything rusty, found more rust then they originally thought and put the body into an area where it would cost more to repair it then it would cost to buy a new daynacorn body and now the owner want out.
I did not decode the cowl tag but it would need to be an insanely rare car to be worth fixing, especially without the original motor and trans. .
Decoding the tag, it looks to be a RS, which the tail lights on sight are for an RS. I was thinking I might just have to purchase a whole new body shell for it in the long run.

A Dynacorn body would be the way to go,about the same cost as all the work to fix this one and a better job. I think I'd pass on that car for $4K,I've seen much better in the $5K range that are solid enough to work with.
For a '67. wrong rear springs, wrong steering wheel, and trans crossmember backwards.
How deep are your pockets? Good luck if you decide to go forward.
