Good point Mike. Unfortunately the seller isn't very responsive which bothers me. If I were trying to sell a high priced item my ad would sure as hell be much more detailed and I would return emails immediately to potential buyers.

The L35 option would mean something to me only if the original 396 was still in the car. That one is a "used to be". And, I would never buy an old car sight unseen either. Too many guys have gotten burned buying that "excellent condition" car, only to receive something way less than that. Then they dump a load of money into the car to get it up to the condition they thought it was in. It looks like a real nice car, but when it's long distance, looks can be deceiving. It's your money, but with a car like this, I'd want to be able to run my hands all over it, and put my eyes into every nook and cranny first.

I would want to see some pic's of the underbody.
It says it was restored 3 years ago, but no mention of "frame-off" or "frame-on".
You cannot tell from that if the underside was done at that time.

Tempting, but $500 is a lot of scrilla to pay someone if the car turns out to be a turd.

No I haven't bid on it yet and right now I'm leaning back to this side of the fence. I'm almost thinking of holding out for that L48 which is what I've wanted from the beginning even before I came up on my 327 Conv. I have cash-in-hand so I'm thinking I should just be patient and wait for the "perfect" car.

Something like this would be ideal

Love the color, SS/RS 350, perfect in terms of options, looks well maintained and numbers matching. If it was a coupe with black interior I'd be considering it. I have about that much "funny money" to spend too...

Yeah I could never spend that kind of money on a car I've never seen. Pics can hide a lot. Just cause it was restored Doesn't mean it was restored the right way. The whole car could be bondo under that paint.

Low and behold...a 67 RS/SS restomod just popped up locally.

1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS | Brea, California | OC Classic Cars

Not a bad looking car. Dealer sent me a pic of the COWL tag and it decoded as follows:

1 = Chevrolet
2 = Camaro
4 = 8-cylinder engine
37 = coupe body
7 = 1967 model year
L = Los Angeles, CA assembly plant (Van Nuys)
116595 = vehicle serial number sequence

Decode for body number: 006053

11B = Built the Second week of November.
67-12637 = Custom Interior Coupe.
LOS = Built in Van Nuys California.
765 = Custom Black Bucket Seats.
Z = (A50) Strato Bucket Seats (without headrests).
C-2 = Lower Color is Ermine White and the Vinyl Top Color is Black.
H481 = internal plant scheduling code.

Options:

1E = (A01) Tinted All Glass
2E = (C60) Air Conditioner
2H = (C48) Heater delete
2G = (D55) Console front compartment
2S = (U73) Antenna Manual right rear
2R = (U80) Speaker rear
3S = (Z23) Interior Decor group
3L = (Z22) Rally Sport Package
4P = (L48) SS 350
5B = (V32) Rear Large Bumper Guards
5Y = (A39) Belts All Deluxe

What do you guys think? I think I'd prefer if the vinyl top was still on it but I'd much prefer the color scheme he choose over the factory Ermine White. Sending an email to the dealer in regards to numbers on engine and drivetrain.
