need to locate fuel sending wire under dash

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to locate the fuel sending unit wire. 1969 Camaro was originally an auto on column, was switched to a console 4 spd, plus an aftermarket dash board. where would the fuel gauge have been originally and what color wire/type plug should I search for?

also, what is the trick to adding photos to this board??

The fuel sending wire will be tan. Fuel guage would likely have been in the big cutout to the right of the steering column in a column auto. Speedo in other cutout.
