Default need help with setting up 68 for street strip

I am building a 68 for street /strip and boy could I use yalls help. I want the car to eventually run low 11s to low 10s which isn't my problem. the problem is the car was in an accident and needs a front end I have no clue where to start and what to buy. I read post after post after post and just keep getting confused. currently because of the accident with the car will need a new subframe , new suspension , steering and a-arms and I am on a limited budget but the nice part is that the car does not have to be together anytime soon but I also don't want to nor can I drop $7,000.00 on a new subframe kit. can yall point me in a direction? I want the car to have the traditional drag racing stance with skinny front tires and fat rear tires and the car to have a small rake to it. I found a oem style complete front end kit for less then $3,000.00 on a website called Camaro central but will oem stuff be ok for a 10 second street car? on the street it will just be a cruiser from show to show and realistically the car will see the strip 3 times a year if that.

You have a lot of option. Back in the day converting to a complete second gen sub frame and suspension. Finding complete sub frame from a 79 Camaro is going be a lot cheaper. There is some fabrication involved but it was pretty basic. If you are putting a cage for 10 seconds its not like you keeping it all stock anyway.

The other budget friendly way is to just wait until someone is updating their car to pro tour and buy there old parts. It happens once in awhile.

Are you sure the body is not tweaked? the sub frames are pretty strong. depending on how they are hit the sub frame will twist the body before it even bends.

Stock subframe is good for 10s but needs to be ridged. Aluminum mounting bushings and sub frame connectors with the diagonal bars off the roll bar hoop welded to the sub frame connectors. Roll cage is not needed for 10s, but an 8 point roll bar would be recommended.

thanks for the tips all. I have subframe connectors already so that's some money saved.
