Aloha from Hawaii 🤙,

I need help figuring out why I have this gap between my steering wheel and column😩. I have gone through the assembly manual it appears to be correctly assembled. Any help would be greatly appeciated🙏🏻

Thank you for responding! Yes, it fits like a key with only one way on. Is this a collapsible type shaft or one solid piece. The corvettes are collapsible. My cover doesn't sit flush like this column I found on the internet if you compare the two. Yes, the nut is torqued to 30lbs

There is something really wrong there.
Do you have that little "C" shaped retainer in there? It's tough to describe what I'm talking about.
If you remove the steering wheel, there is a metal retainer held on by 3 bolts. It can be seen in your picture. Under that is another molded metal plate with slots cut around the edges of it. That plate is held down against a strong spring with a small C-shaped retainer. I'm guessing that retainer is missing.

Default Thank you

Thank you to all that responded! I ended up removing the column and noticed it was modified. I chose to just get a rebuilt one from Camaro Central.
