Are you talking about the physical steering wheel or something with the frontend causing the steering wheel to pull the vehicle left?

According to the drawings in the camaro parts manual, there is a steering column guide that is mounted up under the dash and it should have two bolts that hold it to the dash frame. Look to see if it is broken or the bolts are missing that attach the guide to the column. Looks like you will have to remove the plastic lower dash cover to inspect this part of the column.

Check for a broken sway bar and front wheel alignment. When I originally bought my Camaro, it had a broken swaybar in the left front which caused the car to veer left all the time.

The O.P. is talking about the upper portion of the steering column, where the tilt wheel pivot point attaches to the lower column. Could be a snapped pivot pin, but you won't be sure until digging into it. Try googling for an exploded view of the steering column.

Oops, I was thinking about the entire column. Guess that is what happens when one is reading when they should be sleeping.
