Need advice on alternator bracket.

Read it closer. It bolts to the "header" not the head. I've got it on my 327 now, so I know it doesn't bolt to the head. You need both pieces to mount the alternator. It looks like this when mounted, and can mount pass. or driv. side:

I have the two nuts in as spacers to help my arm match up, but most wont need that.

The intake manifold was changed, which only affected the top bracket mounting. Why does he want to buy and change the lower mount, since the alternator is already hanging on a lower bracket?

I guess he could just buy the arm for $10, but since the other two parts are only about $14, I'd go the whole route and not have a chrome arm with a black lower bracket.
