Your new switch is defective?
That power should come into the switch, you pull the ****, and the power goes out
If that is happening, check the grounds and the dimmer switch
That power should come into the switch on the red wire and go out on the light blue wire to the dimmer switch
Have fun

replace headlight switch. Given the full 12v power goes through it for headlights. several including me, installed the headlight relay harness which takes that full 12v load off the switch. Plug and play install. No cutting any stock wires. About $40. I bought mine from Speedway

Headlights, and all other lights, will be considerably brighter...but the stock headlight switch needs to be good.

2 relays mount near battery on core support and draw power from the AUX battery post on PS fender. Stock headlight pug goes into new harness and that plugs into headlight. Harness runs along (under) core support to DS and plugs direct into headlight. You just leave the stock headlight plug on DS unplugged
