Default Looking at this '68...Nevermind It Sold

[:@] Man...I was going to take a 4 to 4.5 hour drive next weekend to go take a look at a '68. Got an email today saying it sold.

[Here are some pics and I have a question about the last pic that shows the rear end. That is a muffler...right? Why would someone put a muffler in this location?]

The answer is GM put it that way...The reason that the muffler was where it was is that GM put it there for clearance reasons.

Thanks for the info. I had never seen one like that before on a 1st gen.

Heres some pics of other mufflers.



2nd pic is of a new cat-back system that originally came with newCamaros. Due to noise complaints, (not from Camaro owners) this system was no longera factoryoption for performance packaged Camaros, although your local Chevy dealer would install it. The Z/28 was the only exemption. This cat-back exaust system was the only system that Z/28's came with.
