Default A little history

After a lot of detective work and some luck, managed to track down original owner of my car. was difficult because protecto plate had no city or town.Just name and address only Car was bought in Erie Pennsylvania and made it all the way to Shelton Washington. He talked to my wife at lunch time. and just got a call from original owner. He sent me this photo taken July,1969. At that time he said car had Lime Green Strip which he said he did himself taping off white strip and painting it florescent Lime Green. Raised hell all over Erie racing. Now has White strip again. Anyway he had a bunch of stuff to talk about, Very interesting. Sounded like a lot of stories I read about. Getting out of Navy during Vietnam, going work in ship yards, stopping at local dealer and trading in a Chevy Impala with a 6 cylinder as down on this Camaro. He was 22 years old at time and only had car for about 10 months. He then traded it in on a 1970 Old W30 442 I think he said. Still going strong with a Dodge Ram Truck that he has put a bunch of performance goodies on. Real nice guy.

That's a cool story, did he want to buy the car back?

Beautiful car and great story!
I'll keep an eye out for it when I get up that way, I ride the Harley around the peninsula once un a while and the wife's aunt lives in Allyn.
We live down in SW WA about an hour from Portland near the tiny logging town of Yacolt.
I used to get up there quite a bit when I drove for the flying W (Walsh Trucking) driving chip truck.
You going to hit "The End of the World" rod run? Home
I'm thinking about trying to make it this year, my '01 SS isn't old enough to show but I might go down and cruise the gut anyway and enjoy the other cars.
