Default Which Intake Manifold 68 396

Hi all I have a 68 with a 396 and stock hood. I am looking to replace the current stock intake manifold with an aftermarket one. I spoke to the Edelbrock tech line, and the person told me only the torker would fit under the stock hood I wanted to use either the air gap or performer. Anyone have any experience with using a quality aftermarket manifold on a BB under a stock hood that can chime in with recommendations? Thanks

Unless you go with a cowl induction style hood it's pretty tight.
I put a big block in a small block car many years ago with the old school twisted torker and a Holley double pumper, the hood wouldn't close but it wasn't the SS hood.
I ended up putting cowl hood on eventually after using an ugly scooped hood I found for it on the cheap as a temporary fix.

I would really hate to have to put a cowl hood on the car I love the stock appearance So I am trying to avoid changing the hood

Thanks for the reply. That might work but again it kills the factory look.
