like i said toss them in the trash and run a nice even bead of rtv (i prefer copper seal) then lay the corners of the side gaskets in the end of the beads and dab with a finger a little on the topside of said corner, the silicone will keep the side gaskets in place long enough to set the intake down on it (try and set it straight down from top) so as not to move it back and forth to much!
and like 71BB said just snug them down at first, not tight then after 4-5 hours or the next morning torque them!!

Looks really nice edog! Be sure tha parking brake is set so you don't lean against the car when it's in gear and move the engine! Had that happen to a friend while he had the distributor out, and he didn't realise it was turning the engine while he was leaned over the car changing intakes. He moved his car almost a foot, and couldn't figure out why his distributor wouldn't drop back in the same place and have the rotor line up. We finally figured out he'd pushed the car back leaning against it with the brake not set.

So 2 issues.

The block has a exahust cross over and so does the intake. The gasket doesnt. Called Summit and the guy said that is to keep the carb cooler. Got it, since I wont be driving the Camaro all the time he said just leave it closed.

Bigger issue, the intake bolts in the center dont line up. The holes in the intake go straight down and the holes in the heads are angled. It looks like I may have the wrong intake. I guess I will have to do some drilling/grinding or get some of those "S" shaped bolts. I'm on hold right now.....

Wrong intake. So I have to clean it up and change it out. Not too happy, but hey it happens.

Well $38 down the drain for return shipping, but the intake will be back to Summit Weds. I want to just leave the gaskets on. I put just a touch of sealant around the bolt holes and sprayed the head side of the gasket with the copper spray sealer stuff. Or should I just trash everything, clean up, and restart? I got most of what you see below off, all that is still there now is just on the overlap where is stained the gasket.
