Default Idle kick up switch

Both of my cars have vintage air systems. VA says that an idle kick up switch is not needed. Mine are 67 and 68 bb. I am wondering if any of you have ever added a carb idle kick up switch like all carb cars had back then. If so how did you do it, what parts did you use?
Any info would be very helpful
Thank you all,
Scott

Are you sure they had this system back then? I though the AC stepper switch came much later. First as a vacuum motor then a solenoid. Either system would work. You could just power it off the AC compressor power. A lot of how to do it would be based on the system they car currently has?

You may be be confusing the AC idle up system with the engine Idle off solenoid? This was on the stock engines to stop dieseling when you turned off the car. I believe this was on most cars at higher compression.

They may not have had them in gen 1 but gm started using them sometime in the 70s. I'll see what I can make.

They were 73 and newer IIRR
Agree with VA, your big block will not see much of an idle drop with a 10 hp draw from an ac compressor
I'd use one of the Ford ones, maybe even a VOTM
